Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 depending on experience, per annum, plus performance bonus and benefits

The role:
This role will cover Maternity Leave for 12 months.
The Let’s Make it Count Lead (Communities Lead) is responsible for developing, shaping and delivering the award winning Let’s make it count programme to inspire and engage colleagues across Together and our targets and measure aligned to the Sustainability Strategy.
Partner stakeholders across the business and the leads from the LMIC programmes in order to manage all aspects of communication and colleague engagement activities.
Work closely directly with charities that align to our Purpose & Vision (Business Strategy) and Sustainability Strategy to support the community that we serve and our key stakeholders through:
- Deploying in excess of £1m in the community through our Let’s Make it Count programme in FY23
- By the end of 2025, 50% of colleague volunteering days to be used annually
Operating with ‘Respect for People’ building positive relationships internally and externally in order to deliver a positive colleague experience and taking accountability for your delivery with a focus on ‘Doing the right thing’ to deliver positive outcomes, make things happen for both the business and the colleagues.
What you'll be doing day to day:
- Act as a cooperative point of contact for all Communities communication, campaigns and engagement needs.
- Support the delivery and project management of Communities activity, events and take overs.
- Deliver an engaging Communities programme that makes a real difference to colleagues, the communities that we serve, ensuring all strands and the support/activity they provide is balanced across the year.
- Aligning to Purpose and Vision (Business Strategy) and the agreed Sustainability Strategy, develop, shape and deliver a 5-year plan to build best in class activity for all strands.
- Work with the Internal Communications Lead, Press Office, Social and Charities to ensure external and internal messaging is consistent and on-message to all of our audiences and aligned to wider business activity and messages.
- Manage the recruitment of the leads and deputies for the strands.
- Establish and deliver a volunteering programme that provides colleagues with the opportunity to take 2 days per year to support a cause. Ensuring this programme is relevant and drives engagement, coverage and reporting.
- Work alongside Finance to provide clear monthly reporting on donations and charitable spend.
- Manage governance of donations to mitigate reputational risk.
- Align donations to key projects for the business to have clear understanding on the benefit provided.
- Produce a monthly/annual Exec summary highlighting activity delivered and planned.
Essential skills and experience:
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience of establishing and maintaining relationships with senior leaders;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to be creative in a commercial environment
- Prior experience of working on corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaigns or a personal interest in CSR/ESG (Environmental Social Governance)
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and external stakeholders
- Experience supporting colleagues or internal stakeholder communications for a medium-sized or large organisation
- Have a can do approach, showing resilience, creativity, imagination and a common sense approach.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Event management experience
- Experience working in a ‘frontline’ customer service environment and on a fast-paced news desk (or similar deadline environment where writing is involved)
