The Town of Acton is seeking a full time benefitted union Truck Driver/Skilled Laborer position with the Highway Department.
Duties: Duties include, but are not limited to, operating vehicles and equipment and performing tasks associated with the construction and maintenance of town ways and performing manual labor, using rakes, shovels and other related equipment. The applicant hired for this position must be available for snow removal and other emergency work.
Minimum Entrance Requirements: A valid driver’s license; CDL Class B endorsement or greater with an airbrake license is to be obtained within 2 years. Massachusetts Hoisting License 1D (forklift) and Class 2B or greater and OSHA 10 are required at hire or must be obtained within one (1) year or by next available testing period, whichever comes first. High School education or GED equivalency required with a minimum of one (1) year of public works or other similar construction related experience and equipment operation experience.
Preferred Qualifications: OSHA Excavation Competent Persons certification; experience and knowledge of the principles and practices involved in public works and the materials, methods and techniques of public works construction.
Pay Rate: Grade A3, starting $23.9765/hour, $49,871.12/year
