Job Duties:
- Responsible for the provision of personal care of Residents
- Utilize the Resident’s Care Plan to provide individualized care
- Promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual well being of residents and families
- Complies with policies, procedures and work routines
- Ensures a safe and clean work environment
- Works in partnership with other individuals and departments to promote customer service for residents, guests, and staff
Qualifications:
- Active enrolment in the Alberta provincial HCA Directory.
- Health Care Aide Certificate – as approved by Alberta’s Provincial Curriculum or a Registered Nurse who has successfully completed their 2nd year or Licensed Practical Nurse student who has successfully completed their 1st year of schooling and meet qualification requirement #1 above.
- Currently holds or required to successfully complete in-house education for Food Safety Certification (Level 1) upon hire or at time of transition to a Butterfly household.
- Preference given to applicants with work experience in a Continuing Care setting.
- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete assignments in a safe and timely manner.
- Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for residents, families, guests / visitors and staff.
- Demonstrates effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to function as an effective team member with other staff, residents, families and the public.
- Demonstrates attitudes and beliefs consistent with being person centered (displaying an awareness and evidence on a daily basis of why feelings matter most to individuals).
